FAQ

I have been offered a calibration with logo that is different from the Cofrac logo. What should I do?

There are two recognition agreements for the services delivered by laboratories. The first is the CIPM-MRA (recognition of measurement standards and calibration and measurement certificates issued by National Metrology Laboratories). More information on this agreement can be found on the BIPM web site on the KCDB (Key Comparison Data Base) pages www.bipm.org. The national metrology laboratories, such as the LNE in France or the PTB in Germany, can issue calibration certificates including the logo representing this agreement. The other recognition agreement is the MLA between the accrediting agencies of calibration laboratories. The list of accrediting agencies that have signed this agreement can be found on the EA site at www.european-accreditation.org (European Cooperation for Accreditation) and the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) site at www.ilac.org.
